BusyUk is not an intermediary and does not arrange any payments or transactions. If you are contacted by someone who claims to be from BusyUK and asks you to transfer money for an item for sale the email WILL be fraudulent. Do NOT follow any of the instructions contained in the email. |
99.9% of fraud is carried out by people who won't meet you. |
Never send money without having first received or viewed the goods. |
Never send money upfront!! |
Be wary of sending money to Western Union to people you don’t know. Use the securest methods of payment; Pay Pal is more secure than most. |
Never pay in part for goods that are supposed to be in transit . |
If using escrow services make sure the escrow agent is legitimate |
Be careful when dealing with overseas sellers and you only have an email address. |
If you are posting an ad on BusyUK then we would recommend that you check the ‘Hide my email address’ tick box in all of your ads. |
Even if you are a seller, there are scammers awaiting you. |
Be careful when buying expensive items like mobile phones, laptops, plasma TVs, airline tickets and even tickets for shows/gigs. |
When buying airline tickets we suggest you take the seller's name and ticket number, check the ticket exists and take responsibility yourself for changing the names. Remember that some type of tickets are none transferable (may have a photo ID attached), if in doubt check, check and check again! |
Meet the seller face to face (take a friend) and ask to see their ID. We advise only buying and selling with people you can meet. Fraudster’s don’t like to meet people, that's how they get caught! |
If someone asks you to open a bank account to deal with them - DON’T DO IT, this is 100% sure to be a scam - do not enter into an agreement like this! |
Never provide your personal or banking information (e.g. credit card number) to others over the Internet. |
Report to us any attempted fraud or suspicious emails. In case of fraud or illegal activity, we also recommend that you report it to the Police. |
Properties. View properties in person! It is rare that a homeowner is willing to rent or sell a property without meeting the prospective tenant or buyer first! If a so called owner requests payment without meeting you and without you seeing proof that he is the owner then never ever send any money. BusyUK always recommend that you take a friend when viewing property, also let other people know where you are going. It is your money, so ask to see as much proof as you need and get it checked out if you have to. |
DATING -If you do decide to meet someone through BusyUK, for your own personal peace of mind and safety, we suggest that you meet in a very public place and that you take someone along with you when you first meet the person. If you do not have a friend with you, then ensure that you tell someone exactly what you are doing, where you are going, when you are expected back, and give contact numbers, etc. Take ownership of any situation, if you are unhappy about anything then leave, use common sense and express due caution |
